Awareness and Education Outreach on Mental health illness

  • We promote enabling environment for Faith based communities to provide opportunity to support individuals living with mental illnesses to seek help.
  • We facilitate local mental health experts and individuals’ members of the church or faith-based community who have experienced mental illness to speak to the congregation during community gatherings.
  • We organize meetings and functions where church members can have a candid conversation regarding mental health.
  • Share facts and myths embedded in mental health

Opportunity Identification

  • Encourage religious community to identify how they can support individuals living with mental health issues.
  • This can be through space sharing for recreation, programs execution such as peer mentoring programs and volunteering opportunities.
  • We plan and facilitate a community conversation using SAMHSA’s Toolkit for Community Conversations About Mental Health. The toolkit provides information about how to plan a community conversation, how to guide these discussions, and includes information about mental health issues to use during the discussion.

We work with our networks to help rehabilitate those who have been released from jail by identifying their needs and showing them the way out of their situation. We offer programs such as

  • Prison Ministry
  • Special Needs Offenders Program
  • House Placement through our Network Teams
  • Community Integration through Church Community intervention programs
  • Family members mentoring and spiritual nourishment
